Hi, I on my way to buy the new R1250 GS Exclusive and I'm wondering which seat to select. Does anyone have experienced the comfort seat VS the standard seat?
A friend of mine just purchased a new GS he went with the comfort seat because it was a two piece seat like previous models instead of the single seat design.
I have the standard on my R1250 exclusive and it is fine. Had the same on my R1200 triple black. However, the answer to these questions is always very personal and very from person to person, depend on your weight, riding style and other form factors best not described here ?
On my GSA I tried an airhawk and an alaska leather before I ended up with a Sargent seat.
Just couldn't get comfortable with the stock seat.
Airhawk and Alaska worked for a few miles, but not any sort of distance.
I had a Sargent on my GS also.
Sargent makes a great seat.
Stock low seat got me through ~36,000kms and from Toronto to St. John's, Newfoundland and back just fine. Another seat might be better, and I might look at something else eventually, but no problem doing 2+ hour sets all day long on freeways.
I have 20,000 miles or more on a seat concepts saddle and couldn’t be happier. Much better than the stock saddle which is way too soft
