Exhaust pipe overheating

Some colleagues have reported overheating at the exhaust discharge in the R1200 LC.
A probable defect in the Lambda probe can cause a very poor A/F mixture, which causes overheating of the combustion chamber and the exhaust pipe.
The normal temperature in the region of the Lambda probe installed on the catalytic converter should be around 500 Centigrades, it's easy to check it with a contact termometer or with a help of scanner to read the realted datas (GS 911 as an example).

Interesting... do you know what was symptomatic of the overheating? Blue coloration on the pipe and cat?
