figured it out

After one year of trying to figure out why my GSA was not starting - when it was getting gas and spark to the cylinders.
Someone suggested that I try to disconnect the battery and then reconnecting it.
I did just that and the bike started right up.
I have no idea why. But it worked.

flyingdutchman177 - Check all the air intake and the filter for obstruction. ( I pulled out the air cleaner)
- Check the exhaust for obstruction. (Maybe that exhaust valve is stuck closed????)

Does that happened overnight or the bike was unused for some time ? (It only sat for one week and then it didn't start)


To ignite properly, a precise air/fuel mixture is needed. If the fuel pressure regulator is not working properly, the injectors opens but don't send enough fuel. Is there someone around you with a GS911 (to read error codes or check fuel regulator)

Anyone have a GS911 unit and want to help? The bike is located in Perris CA

Ask dealer how to check crankshaft position sensor.

They said the only way to check this is to replace it with a new one. And they are $300
Does anyone know if when the CPS fails, can it still make the spark plug spark out of time or does it shout down the spark completely?

flyingdutchman177 Kick stand switch (its not that), or the throttle valve switch (not sure what this is or what it does. It is getting fuel and spark to the cylinder so I am not sure why it won't even pop), fuel pump electronic (fuel pump was replaced about 5000 miles ago. It gets a strong spray of gas out of the injector when I pulled them) or fuel pump (same same?)

Kick stand switch, or the throttle valve switch, fuel pump electronic or fuel pump. Try those ones.

flyingdutchman177 How could a worn out Voltage regulator keep my bike from starting. It has a new battery and it cranks over fine. Plus it is getting spark.

2011 GSA won't start

I have a 2011 GSA with 105,000.
For 8 years, I had no issues and then one week, it wouldn't start.
It cranks over fine but it doesn't pop or even sound like it wants to start.
I pulled both fuel injectors and cranked it over and they shot of fuel.
Then I pulled both center spark plugs, grounded them on the engine and they were both sparking
So, it has gas and spark. I am confident it has good compression as nothing had changed sitting in the garage for the week.
So what could it be? What is keeping this bike from starting if the cylinders are getting fuel and spark?
