Good morning Gents, our trip started off with myself on my R1200GS and my dad on his recently purchased Triumph tiger 800, we decided that we wanted to do a morning ride starting in our local town George in the Southern Cape, South Africa going over the Outeniqua pass following the R62 on the black stuff before starting our 70 km gravel roads through Prins Alfred pass into Knysna and then coastal roads back to George. As some of you know South Africa is in the winter months and the temperature can fluctuate drastically with the mountains and this past weekend was one of those, it started of 8:00 at 16 degrees celsius and 20 min later we were in the Karoo at 6 degrees. This is a wonderful route if you ever wanted to do a day route were the scenery changes drastically from a dry fynbos semi dessert area to a humid forest scene in Knysna.
The morning started with me reaching 50 001 km

Hour later in the freezing cold we started the Prins Alfred's Pass
