Not much difference between the 2009 and 2010, I have a 2009 and don't have any problem with it.

I had a 2008 and it was fine. I think it's 2008 and up you need to look at, before that they had the electronic brakes that were pretty bad, or at least very sensitive to malfunctiononing. Personally I liked the look of the 2008+ models better as well,. they had the shorter beak, and for regular GS the metal fairing on the front.
Then the next big step up was the DOHC engine, with the exhaust valve gave it a bit more grunt, dont think much else changed from that moment untill LC came out. I just traded in my 1200GSA with 144.000 kilometers, no engine issues at all, ran like a champ.
