Ok now I get it and thank you, That is brilliant btw...

Going to jump on Fusion 360 and make one I can 3D print now
I took a PVC (1.5") electrical conduit coupling and cut it in half, smoothed it out a little with sandpaper, filed a groove for the boss in the casting next to the drain plug. Perfect friction fit.

I'll be installing the Outback Motortek guards and skid plate on my bike next week. On the install video they dealt with this issue. Their simple solution was to remove the plate for each oil change because that let's you clear out any stuff that might have gotten stuck up there (mud, twigs, rocks) as well as have a good look at the condition of the underside of your bike. It's only an extra five minutes of work to R&R the four bolts.
