With fuel prices falling here in the UK I thought I would treat the GS (2010 model) to a drop of the good stuff on my post lock down ride. I haven't done this for a long time on any bike so was interested to see what difference it would make.
The result was nothing but positive, 50mpg imperial (42 mpg US) up from 46mpg, this is with a booster plug fitted.
The bike always ran great with the flapper valve removed and a after market slip on silencer but I could still notice the difference the fuel made.
The UK octane rating is 97RON , which may be calculated differently in other countries. While prices are lower I will stick with it where possible.
