Fork leaking from top

On my 2014 r1200gsa I thought I had a leak from the seal on the left fork but upon closer inspection found that it was coming from the T20 screw at the top. Also the fork was loose and spinning freely. This all on a trip from California to Louisiana. I took it apart and believe that it is just the o-ring causing the leak. It being Easter Sunday though I have to wait for a shop to open. I hope this is all that was causing the leak. As for the spinning I think it was the nut at the top just being loose. I’ll torque that down when I get it back together. Has anyone else ever experienced any of these issues? I’m just trying to get it fixed before my return trip next week.

Welcome to the forum. The fork tube is supposed to spin. That screw at the top is an air hole to help when you need to replace the seals. Harbor freight has a nice $9. seal puller and don't put the seal in upside down.
When my seal was leaking oil got everywhere from the air blowing up through the fork area.

Thank you, so I need to replace the seal? Do you know any place that can overnight one to Louisiana if I can’t find a dealership close by?
I would wrap a red shop towel around it and tape it in place till you get home. Any auto parts store can help with that.
