Looking to buy an aftermkt muffler - thoughts?

I have on order the Akropovic Ti Headers - With that in mind I really don't want to spend another $1000 for a Akropovic slip on muffler - so in order to save I found one made in Poland called the Dominator - it looks very well made however must have run very hot and or was positioned too close to my right turn signal as it completely melted the housing. They refunded the money for the torch.

Back to the drawing board - Asking for your experience and opinions please:

BMW R1200GS Exhaust 2013-2017 Carbon Fiber Slip On GPR Black Pandemonium Muffler $475 USD
or
BMW R1200 GS ADVENTURE 2017 2018 LEOVINCE NERO SLIP-ON EXHAUST $511.85 USD
or
Scorpion Serket Parallel Slip-On $543.60

Any advice or experience with these companies and the quality would be greatly appreciated

I've had 40 odd years of spannering bikes and fitted dozens of silencers. I have not come across for the money a better made silencer than offered by these people.

I have linked to a USA supply company, mine was supplied here in the UK. They are Chinese (sorry) .

Why bother? During last 30 years loud muffler helped me with lane filtering. I am being heart and cars move away. In the city streets pedestrians hear me and don't launch themselves from the curb stupidly as they usualy do. When I'm in blind spot of the car besides me, he may not see me but he can hear me. Well I could go on with this...
I dont give a shit about impressing someone, I just care about me. And I haven't started to ride and modify my bikes yesterday. It was 38 years ago.
Does your muffler outlet point forward? If not it will be more effective it it does.
I run it without silencer and is well heard.
However, no point in arguing, every one to its own. I do what I like and think and I don't care about what others think of me. As simple as that.
It is true that loud pipes can make you heard better... from behind... by thoses who already seen you... it does nothing to prevent a car ahead from cutting in front of yo.

It just create a false sense of security, annoy people and contributes to have motorcycle banned on some streets/part of town.

I call those "the look at me riders" . My bike came with a Reemus and it pops a bit, and there are times when I feel embarrassed by it.

If you want a stock can let me know. You'll have to ride here to get it though. Perfect reason to go for a ride be it next door or across the country.
I hear for 'more tone' from the can to drill the baffle, and it's reachable from the pipe side after removing the can. For those of us less able to follow 'Mechanic', where in the baffle are said holes drilled please? Does the baffle pull outta the can and then we can drill 4-6 10mm holes pretty much anywhere??? Thanks!

I drilled the baffle in my son’s first sportbike for safety. Only a few USA states allow lane filtering/splitting so those flippant comments about noise makers only shows they don’t understand being heard in slow moving traffic saves lives or injury. I agree with needing to ensure the airflow changes are all accounted for with any exhaust mods, but this baffle mods interests me too. I suspect a new metal drill bit would quickly cut through the baffle w/o damage and hopefully we can easily shake out the metal shards. Maybe my comment will bump this thread and someone who has drilled their baffle will advise...

My experience with aftermarket exhaust is that the engineers set up that bike to run ideal with oem engine parts. Once you change the exhaust system, you create back pressure or create more free flow, which, from my perspective, causes an engine to run, hot or cold. Either way it creates unnecessary friction and heat, creating premature engine failure. I’ve rebuilt engines for performance purposes, not BMW, and have always started at the camshaft and work out from there. Replacing rings, pistons cylinder walls everything otherwise you’re going to put performance parts with standard parts, which is not a good mix. On another note, anyone know where I can get a plastic endcap for a standard GS exhaust I cracked mine the other day on a drop. 2017 R1200GS.
Personalty I think it's a waste of money.
It looks so much better. But my bags cover it.
It sounds better. But I where ear plugs.
It's a lot lighter. But I fill my bags with 20 pounds of stuff I don't need.
More power. Yea..Right

Why do you wear ear plugs when riding? I sure want to hear what's going on around me. Just curious.

I won’t ride without them, too much wind noise and ears ring like crazy when I don’t use them.

I gotcha. I just switched from riding a Harley with a half helmet for 20 years to a 1250gs with full face so I'm ok with the sound. Never considered eplugs.
My 14 GS had a Remus Hexacone on it when I bought it. Have to keep silencer in or it is obnoxious. With silencer it has a nice deep sound, and barks a little when you give it full beans. My 21 GS is stock and will remain that way. I like the sound of the Remus, just right. Butt and wallet dyno always say it adds performance, but, usually does not. I always wear ear plugs when riding. Good plan if you want to keep your hearing.
Earplugs don't stop the noise, they just knock it down a bit. You still hear everything. Wind noise is a HUGH contributor to tinnitus.

Like others said, It reduces the wind noise. Also I'm a lot less tired after a ride. I had a custom set of earplugs made at the Long Beach motorcycle show a few years back and they are very comfortable. Another kind I like are Mighty Plugs. I take one and break it into two. https://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Plugs-Worlds-Plug-Personal/dp/B003G5W3KG?th=1

Chances are very high you will be shopping for hearing aids in the future. The wind noise alone is above the threshold to damage hearing. Tinnitus is no fun and is something that usually catches up as you age even though you may have abused them years earlier.
Exactly what Coverdog said, you have already done the damage & it will catch up to you eventually, Earplugs at this point can help you from further damaging them. I wish I had started wearing them 50+ years ago when I first started street riding back when open face helmets were the norm instead of after the ringing started. I find it much more relaxing while wearing earplugs as it lowers the noise level considerably but not so much as to miss sounds that might be important like sirens, screeching tires or dicks in big pickups trying to race/run you over.
