I have the common issue of unit won't start on the bike and overnight it would just die and loose its charge.
Digging down and reading everything online didn't help with anything.
The dealer is as confused as myself.
Digging down and doing self diagnostic, i checked and compared the unit when on the bike and when charging with USB at home.
I get 2 confusing info.
1) on the bike Battrey status would say "NTC fault" :crying:
2) Temp 1 while on the bike show -1C despite being 53C on Temp 2.
I am in Dubai and that day ext Temp was 45C.

Is there a guide for the diagnostic screen and what different attributes mean?
What is Temp 1 and Temp 2:confused:?
Can someone share a photo of the diagnostic screen when the bike is on the bike mount please?

Note: i googled the heck out of the problem with no success
Thank you in advance

Where'd that screen come from?

1. Where did that screen come from? Nav VI? or something else.

2. I too, have ongoing issues with the Nav VI not starting. There is a page on the Garmin site relating to it. <https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=im7G0y2zfs07DOWUNdACmA> However, this did not resolve the issues with my Nav VI.

3. My solutions,

a. for some reason the Nav VI can discharge so if it has been sitting more than a week I charge it off of the bike and charge it a bit via a typical USB charger. It doesn't have to be fully charged, but has to have some charge.

b. Even with a full charge, often Nav VI still won't start. In this case I have to take it out of the cradle and start it manually, sometimes having to hold the button down about 30 seconds before it initiates. After it starts, without shutting it down, I put it back in the bike's cradle, start the bike and drive away. Nav VI then works normally. Issue is sporadic. Sometimes it starts, sometimes not, but a least I can force it to start with the technique noted. I think it is an unresolved Garmin problem.

4. Nav VI is pretty nice when it is working, but really annoying that a $1000 GPS that it does not reliably start.

This is how I managed in the past year, yet sometimes it shuts off after refueling and I hated I had to go through this all and wanted a real fix.

The screen is from the Navigator VI.
When the unit is turned on, press the top right corner and hold for 15 seconds or more and you should get the diagnostic screens.

Check if you have the same NTC FAIL.
It only happens to me when the unit is on the bike.
Also check your Temp 1 as for me it doesn't look right at 1C in my case.

I sent an email to Garmin and awaiting a response.

Cheers
