Hi All, I,m new to this site and adventure bikes.

Been riding for many years many on Jap bikes. I am in the process of buying a BMW1200GS 2017 and need your advice in terms of reliability, recalls etc,...

I've always had a liking to the boxer engines but never owned one.

Your advice and comments are appreciated, good, bad and ugly:)

I am fully aware that BMW means Bring Money With!!:):)

More details about the bike would be nice,

I had a 2017 r1200gs until someone rear ended me and destroyed it, it was a fantastic bike I put 24,000 miles trouble free
I got a 2018R1200GSA for the replacement

If the price is fair I'd take it

I have a '16 GS and it's the bike that's been in my garage the longest in my 50 years of motorcycling. I've always felt that there's too many great bikes out there to get married to just one but this GS and I have been in a committed relationship with no sign of wandering eyes. Well, there was a sexy Italian (Multi V4S) that I ogled for a few months but it's true colors as a high maintenance Italian Supermodel became obvious and I went back out in the garage and hugged my GS :)

I traded my '09 GSA and my '12 GTL for a '17 GSA and I truly believe it'll be my last bike. Not because I'm 66 years old, but it just so much fun to ride, I don' t need to look elsewhere.
