If it a hex or cam head R1200GS the seat is two position, low/high. If you remove the seat there are two metal bars underneath that can be oriented 4 ways

  • Hight position
  • Low position
  • Front of seat high position rear of seat low position (this is the most comfortable for most as it keeps you from sliding forward jamming the boys into the tank
  • Front of seat low position rear of the seat high position.

I had the same issue with my 2005 Oilhead GS. 5'10", 30" inseam. Low position wasn't low enough for me. I am currently running an AirHawk Low seat. It allows me to flat foot, and is also more comfortable than stock. There are many other low seat options out there if you need them.

Same here with my R1200GS 2009, 5'8", 32" inseam. Low position was acceptable (not perfectly flat-footed) but I'm way more comfortable with my Touratech X-low seat.
