Is there and advantage or ascetics?

I quickly searched and it looks like the cap totally removes from the filler neck. I'd probably spend more time looking for it on the ground

It does completely come out. But it eliminates the little hole where the fuel nozzle goes in so you can see what you're doing and it's really sharp (imo).

I have a 2020 GS and use a newer Ducati Multistrada fuel cap. No issues with leaking.
