So I guess Hello is in order. Long time lurker, but never really posted. So I went to the dealership today, needed some Oil and filters for the two Bikes R9T Racer, 2006 R1200GS. Well the GS is getting long in the tooth at 160 000 KM and it needs some work this season, Ujoints, windscreen, Panier Handles, Leaking wheel, leaking rear crank seal. So this is what happened.
So long old Friend,

Based on typical parts and shop labor rate guessing the new bike only cost you an extra $1500 Canadian.

I could do it all myself, but time seems to be the problem. Just not enough time.

Nice. Congratulations!
Definitely a good looking pair of bikes. My local dealer had one of the R9T racers, the seating position was “sporty” for my frame but sure would be fun for short jaunts.

It’s good for coffee runs, it’s not comfortable for long rides. It was a wedding gift from my now wife, she asked what bike I loved but wouldn’t buy. And surprise. Since I had the GS I didn’t need a “pretty” bike. So now when I meet her for lunch I have a pretty bike to park beside her pretty M2

I’ve worked really hard to get here that’s for sure. I probably work too much. The GS will be for hunting and more daily.
