ON R1250GS DOES WINDSHIELD ADJUSTER REQUIRE LUBRICATION?

If so, do you lube the metal rods or inside the mechanism ?

I only have an R1200, but I have never needed to lubricate the windscreen adjuster. With that said, if I want ot adjust the windscreen, I have to stop the bike. The force of the wind against the screen will keep it from moving.

While moving I never try to adjust the screen up (too much resistance) but I can adjust it down. Recently in the garage I noticed some stutter while adjusting the screen. It occurred only at one part of the full stroke of the shield adjustment: I could hear it, but also feel it in the adjustment knob. Not sure if the source is the gear mechanism or resistance on the rod.

If you try it and it works for a smoother adjustment, please let us know.
From the day I took delivery of my 2021 1250 Triple Black GS the windscreen had a very tight spot halfway when winding up or down, I pointed this out to the dealer at the 10000km service, I don’t know what they did but it’s great now.

My son had the same issue with 2021 GSA, it was that tight in one spot the mechanism broke, the dealer has requested a warranty claim from BMW, he has not heard back from the dealer to date.
I did lubricate mine once (the bike is 2021) and I used Staburags. Just a thin layer of lube on those shiny little shafts.
Also, I have supporting brackets as I have big windshield. I don't adjust my winshield anymore as I have found a perfect spot wothout buffeting but when I was adjusting it, I have always done it with bike stopped, one hand on the adjusting knob and the other hand "helping" the screen to move.
I put a little bit of silicone spray on miner every now and then. This seems to keep it free without attracting a build up of muck
Like RC1024 I've nevr lubracated mine but I do slow down if I need to raise it. It's been like that for 55k miles.
I tried the silcone, easiest to do. So far so good. I appreciate the feedback from you all, and on this forum in general.
