Went for a ride today after our first winter storm of the year. It was very early but much needed. We were in the midst of a severe drought and the state was on fire. Three days of rain, snow at 5,000 ft and higher (we live at 4,200 ft) and highs in the 30s. This was taken a few miles from my place and at an elevation of about 5,200 ft. I was just below Marysville. In the 1890s it was the most populous town in Montana due to the gold and silver mining in the area. These days there are less than 100 people in the town, but it has a good bar and a popular ski hill.

Back in my Triumph days, About 90 miles outside Bakersfield. Finishing up a Dual Sport ADV ride. No cell reception (SHINKO TIRE). My friends had to leave early so, I was alone. I'm accustomed to getting 1000 miles more out of a TKC80 Rear that the Shinko allowed Tire Wheel Hood Automotive tire Tread
(1st and last time I'd tried cheap rubber), so knew I'd make it to frkkin Bakersfield at least.. No. Not before the metal cord started to show. "Was your tire properly inflated?" Yes.
Came up with this brilliant plan. A metal corner reflector sign somewhere along the Kern river.
But put a new 'spin' on the term ADVENTURE riding.

La Bufadora?? I have to ask because I was there once as a child and forget what the place was like, but the geysers were neat. Mom also let us buy explosives. Explosives are neat, too.
