You'll have to trade the racks too. The Jessies attach to a completely different system than the Varios.

Double check, you might even have genuine BMW adventure rack (post picture with the panniers removed, someone here will be able to tell).

Vario Panniers - for Oil Cooled Bikes

Have a pair of good condition Vario left and right cases for oil cooled GS/GSA (GS up to 2012, GSA up to 2013). Have the mounting brackets with mushroom bolts if needed for an extra $50. I will pull lock tumblers for you to assist in rekeying. Some minor bumps and bruises but good shape and...

I've had good luck using a 24 x 18 x 18 box from the local home center for shipping panniers using UPS and one of their ever omnipresent 20% off coupon codes. Since panniers and racks are typically under the 50lb threshold they are not extremely terrible to ship. Usually around $80 from the right coast to the left coast.

When packing the panniers put the outside inwards facing one another with a couple of pieces of cardboard between them to keep them from rubbing. Vario or Jesse mounts pack inside the panniers. Unfortunately, if using panniers with more traditional racks they do not fit inside the panniers. It better to pack them in a separate box vs getting a bigger box to hold everything.

I would re-consider the trade. The Jessie bags are soooo much better than the stock bags. They are tough as nails and are top loading. The stock bags have plastic brackets and break very easily in a tip over.

I've had two sets of Jesse's and no matter how good they are I cannot get past the looks. Sold them both.

FWIW older Jesse Panniers are not supported by the new owners. On the rare chance you need some parts you'll need to source them on the secondary market.

I just want clean and simple I dont plan any huge trips other than a few small overnight things. The Vario bags are soo nice and sleek

If you sell your Jessie"s I have a set of Give hard cases, they even have liners in them. I switched out to Mosko Moto soft bags. I prefer the Givi over the Vario because they top load and seem sturdier. The sticker is easily removed and I reside in AZ so you can avoid shipping, however you would need to sell your other cases.

Man, that hurts deeply as a I have been using my MicaTech V2 45 liter bags on four different Super Teneres 10 years now. They are every bit as beautiful as my latest 2021 Super Tenere. I recently purchased a slightly used “22 1250GS with Vario bags that certainly are not as robust as the MicaTechs. They look good, though. BTW, both the GS and S10 are great motorcycles.
