I gave the OEM windshield 1 season (15,000Km) but the wind/front tire noise is too much. 2015 GS is used for 2up pavement touring 90% time. 5'11" with the stock seat in the high setting. Any sage windshield advice ?

Puig Touring windscreen with their lifting mechanism reinforcement add-on fitted works well for me.

If you are prepared to spend much more, then Aeroflow has a windshield, hand flare extensions and Aero Guards that some say work very well.

I use the VStream, Z2487. The clarity of their screens is unsurpassed and it eliminated wind noise and shoulder wind. Screens are like seats though, some work better for some and others work better for others.

+1 on the PUIG Touring screen.
I also recommend hearing protection, I use a helmet Interphone system mostly to listen to music and take phone calls and with the right earplugs I find I hear comms much better as they filter out unwanted background noise like wind.

I have the Puig touring windscreen but it wasn't enough for me on my 2018 GSA. I ended up going back to the stock windscreen with a Puig large sized spoiler. That was the ticket for my 6'5" body.

I'd offer selling my old Puig touring screen to you, but you don't show where you live. If you live in the US, it won't be worth your bother as shipping would make it too expensive

thanks

I’m really happy with my airflow Givi windscreen..I’m 6’3 with a tall seat and run it just under the mid position...very quiet no buffeting and solid in high winds and high speeds..seems like the split screens really eliminate the turbulence ..absolutely love this thing, checks all my boxes

Oh,Brian, pretty sure the OP is up around North Bay

Before you go to the trouble and expense of a new windshield, you might try sticking a rubber ball behind the stock windshield to raise it into a more perpendicular position. This will help (or did me) with the wind noise, although I still got a taller windshield. Nothing but replacement is going to cut down on the tire noise. Except ear plugs and with plugs in, sometime I forget to shift...

Well I am 5'11 also I just ordered a National Cycle Ztechnik Z2486, ordered it off ebay 118.00 bucks so I will see.....

I had a Vario Xcreen - it's good (but doesn't look that good on the GS in my opinion). That got wrecked in a get-off I had, so I decided to try something different.

Ended up with a Wunderlich Ergo Screen Extension 3D which matches the angular agressive look of the GS and works incredibly well! I couldn't be happier.

Riding around, 6'4" with the screen up and I get zero turbulence or wind noise at my helmet. It's outstanding and looks OEM to my eye.

The reason I went with ztechnic was because their screens are polycarbonate, that isn't going to shatter or crack. Deform, get torn off the mounts? Sure, could happen. But you'll still have a vaguely windscreen shaped piece of plastic ;-)

You can replace the windscreen in total as others have suggested or your could just stick a LaminarLip extension on the stock windscreen. That cured ALL of my wind noise. I could not even use my Blue Tooth communicator before but now I can easily..the difference was night and day. But what ever you do don't live with that noisy dang stock windscreen as is!

Like it was mentioned earlier, just know that what works for one may not work for others. It is the typical "won't know until you try it" situation. However, there are a lot of knowledgeable people here.

I have a 2016 GS, replaced my stock GS windscreen with a the stock GSA windscreen. Not a 100% difference, but it works for me. It makes the highway riding more enjoyable and I also didn't want too much of a larger windscreen.

I've heard good things about the Puig Touring windscreen. I have tried a bunch of things. The best I came up with was a National Cycle/VeeStream Deluxe Touring screen and Aerowings...and Wunderlich's lower dash piece that stops wind and noise coming up around the forks...and a wunderlich handlebar storage bag that also blocks some of the noise between the forks. The result of all of that is a GSA with RT like quiet at most speeds. I can ride with my helmet visor up at most speeds if there's not ridiculous cross-winds. Still get enough air to stay comfy in hot weather wearing a mesh.

I tried Wunderlich and Aeroflow. Both of those are too low to be used alone. You need one of those clip-on helper-screens to push the wind over your head. They do work well if you have that, though. The Wunderlich was especially good at stopping buffeting, but it's costly...and with the helper screen, more costly.

Aerowings, I think, only fit on GSA. Is that correct? I like them a lot.

Finally, the biggest improvement in front end noise is to change to Conti Trail Attack 3 or Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires. They make minimal tread noise and are OK for casual off-pavement use. Not for mud or sand, but no street-oriented tires will work well in those conditions.

While there's no perfect do-everything solution, there are some really bad choices out there. I feel like BMW used one of those as an OEM tire. Their OE Bridgestone A041 90/10 tires are the noisiest things I've ever had on a bike...and they're not knobbies or off-road tires. They do everything well, but they are LOUD even at 20mph. People riding with me could hear my tires from their bikes. Just awful. If you're trying to solve that noise, the only way is a tire change.

Michelin Anakee tires are also quite noisy, from what I've read and heard from others.
