Would like feedback on where to attach the yellow wire from the Innovv K2’s power converter. It needs to be a switched wire, e.g. a taillight wire. I don’t have a wiring diagram. If the insertion requires splicing into an OEM wire, I’d also like to know how to do it. I have very basic wiring skills.

You can posi-tap into the fuse harness just to the right of the seat height adjuster. If you cannot find it, drop me a pm an I’ll send you a phone number to call. The tail light on a 1250 GS is not the best option as it pulses.

Electrically, not sure what’s what in this pic.

Cut the cable tie holding the fuse canister just below the RH rubber seat locater. In your pic it has a large red wire & a couple of thinner wires coming out of it. Open the fuse canister to reveal a 10A & a 7.5A fuse, you want to tap into the 7.5A fuse, it runs the left MFS & the TPM so will switch on/off with the ignition. This is how I have my Innovv K2 wired up

I never use Scotchloks on bike wiring as they are unreliable. best to cut the cable tie to open the fuse canister & use a piggy-back fuse for a more solid connection so you don't encounter any issues down the track. this is how I had the Innovv connected to my RS & Divi and now my GS also, works a treat

On the left in the pic I see two large red wires coming from under the seat adjuster. There is a smaller red wire above and to the right in the pic. Not sure which red wire you are referring to.

you have to cut the cable tie holding it in postion just below the RH seat locator. then unclip it from the the base which is held by a tab. This is not my pic BTW, I just Googled "r1200gs fuse box location" and up it came

I never use Scotchloks either. I use posi-taps. They are quite reliable. I always try to avoid cutting the bike’s harness.

All of these ideas are new to me so pardon my ignorance. I looked at Posi-lock (for this application, I think the Posi-tap design is better suited?) and the piggyback item in the link. The former would seem to be a much simpler solution, but another comment cautions against tapping into the canbus wiring. With such low amperage, is tapping into the system a possible issue?

With the piggy back sub-harness, how would that be attached to the wiring?

The input has three wires,
Red wire to the positive terminal of battery.
Black wire to the negative terminal of battery.
Yellow wire/ Acc to the ignition/ switched power source which would be the lead from the piggy back fuse

it's not "mounted" as much as it is just sitting there. i have the low seat on my bike so there is little clearance for much. The GS certainly doesn't have the same large space that I had under the seat of my RS which is why it kinda looks a bit untidy

Decided to utilize one of the Cansmart circuits, soldering a "pin" to the K2's yellow trigger wire, and plugging it into the white wire on the three-pin Cansmart plug. The "pin" was a piece of one of the three claws from a spring-loaded retrieval device. I'll post some pics next time the seat comes off.

After a couple of rides, I was able to access the files on the Innovv K2's DVR. To do so with a Motorola G6 (Android), you have to put the phone in airplane mode and sync with the "Innovv K2" wifi connection. So you don't have phone service while connected to the DVR. Innovv said they are working on a fix and there is beta software you can download. (Their Em responses were same day, considering geography.) I don't know how IOS systems would work with this unit.

This and other dash cams are mainly intended to have a visual record in case of accident. With the K2 (and maybe other makes), you can have a live feed from the DVR on the phone screen while riding, about 60/40 front/rear. The rear view should provide good additional rearward visibility. Many thanks for the feedback I've received in this post.

I just purchased a R1200GS with what we think is the K2 system of cameras. I kept on a getting a TPU front tire error when the mechanic checked everything and unplugged the cable under the passenger seat and put it back into the original place I have not gotten anymore TPU errors. Although the camera system is non functional I was wondering if anyone else had this happen or even heard of it before. I emailed the manufacturer and they've never had any problems like this.
UPDATE: I had the dealer remove the system from my GS. I'm going to test it again and more than likely sell it.
