Hi all,
I have just purchased a 2014 R1200GSA LC, it has the standard halogen headlights and indicator bulbs, is it possible / simple to swap
a. the indicators to LED
b. the headlight to the LED projector

Thanks

Yes and no... changing the indicator will require either :

Programming by the dealer to "tell" the electronic control unit that the bulbs are LED (because LED consume very little current it will see them as burned bulbs and display a warning message).

or

Installing 60 Ohms/5 watts resistors in parallel with the LED indicators to consume more current, preventing the error message.

For the headlight, the easier way to have more light is to install Cyclops LED instead of the halogen bulbs (they are equipped with resistors, no errror message). I have installed them on my 2009 R1200gs and it made a real difference.

I haven't changed my headlight, but I put Weiser Technik LED turn signals on front and back.

I thought all 2014s had LED headlights?

I switched my 2007 GSA to one of these ans highly recommend.
Appears that it was an option for the first run, as a result looking around there doesn’t seem to be an after market upgrade on the ebays

Not only for the first run but up until 2018 one could order a base version GS/GSA which had the Halogen headlmap, no ESA (but manual adjustment), no pro modes etc.
I think the headlamp Krons mentioned is also made for the LC bikes, you can look into that...not very expensive.

I replaced both bulbs in my friend's 1200gs. Got them cheap from AliExpress, Zdatt brand. It was 2 years ago and he is still happy with them. We tucked everything inside the unit, fans including, and closed the dust covers. There was no need to remove the headlight from the bike. The only thing needed was adjustment as new bulbs were sending the beam too high. He still rides with same bulbs and Zdatt is less then half a price of Cyclops.

Complete replacement assembly would i recon mate
My old light assembly have H7 halogen bulbs and tiny led light under the main one so i would need wire harness from two plugs going to one in the LED light assembly
This would make my R1200GS K50 2014 look alot younger.

I have a 2015 GS with "Cyclops" led bulbs. A great light, not too hard to install, and great instructions. I doubted if all the hardware would fit inside the OEM shell but didn't have any problems.

Hey Krons, I just picked up an '07. Can you share pictures of your install, how are they compared to stock? Did you have any glitches or incompatibly?
I'd like to upgrade the headlights for my back county road commute and aesthetics.
Thanks!

Hard to even compare to stock as it is so much better. Dramatically better.

Here is a install video (not mine). It takes a bit but very worth it.
