Just a few pics for wetting of the appetite. For inspiration on the next weekend project . It needs to be waterproofed I’m going to use clear flex seal.

On my previous bikes, I installed the remote hidden, like you, but instead of installing the button, I soldered the button short, removed the battery from the remote and run the wire 12V to high beam bulb wire. That way, when I come to my garage door, I simply hit high beam flash button and it opens the door.
On my 1250GS, there is no bulb, the high beam is LED so I couldn't do it. However, I installed Hex EzCan and one of the outputs is used for the high beam. Again, run the wire to 12V battery poles on the remote and it works just like on all of my previous bikes.

On one of my Ducati's, I took one of the garage door openers apart soldered two wires on the contacts and ran them to a momentary switch that I then installed on a convenient location on the left fairing. I then zip tied the garage door opener to the frame out of sight.

Security of a hidden opener was not a concern as if I'm out and about a would-be button pusher can push the button until their finger falls off and my garage door will be unaffected. I did it more because i don't like things hanging on the key ring or trying to push the button while riding up the driveway with the fob in my pocket.

Clever setup, the muted colors flag is a great, visible but not too flashy.

That would make the setup a little more complicated but, I would have used a voltage controller to power the remote from the bike accessory to make sure it only work when bike is ON, making sure that no one can open your garage if you leave the bike outside unattended.

How often do you park your bike right outside the garage unattended with the door down? For me it rarely ever and even the times I do the keys are probably hanging in the ignition. If the door is open the bikes are usually parked in the garage. If the door is close the bikes are either parked inside or I'm out riding them. If I'm out riding them once I get a 50-foot separation from the door and opener the signal is not strong enough to open the door.

I use Tailwinds garage door controller, it has the ability to sense you are on Bluetooth with the bike and will auto open when I pull up.

A friend just stuck his small remote inside the hand-guard of his GS. He's had it there for 5 years and no problems.

I put mine in the elastic pocket of my Giant Loop tankbag. I also keep my iPass and a spare non-radio key for removing bags and GPS in the same pocket. It all fits, doesn't show and no problems for about a year. When at a motel, I remove the tank bag and bring it in with a bag liner full of clothes and my helmet. I stick the GPS in my helmet or in the tank bag.

Having that spare non-radio key allows me to leave the real key in my pants pocket so it never gets misplaced.

Mine is kept in tank bag pocket on all five bikes,,,, on my F650 the previous owner had the momentary switch on dash, never saw the need to adapt my opener to the switch,,, although it would be nice
