Thanks for everyone's response. Since the sizes of the contact areas for the different pegs were on their websites, I decided to make some cardboard mockups. What surprised me was that the SW-Motech's pegs were as long (about 3" or 50 mm), but about 40% wider (35mm vs 50mm or 1 3/8" vs ±2") than the stock peg. For comparison, I looked at Pivot Pegz Mk4 (100mm L x 60mm W). They were much longer than stock and about twice as wide. I didn't do mockups on any other brand, but I think I have a better understanding of size.

Thanks Slow24. A brief search of Black Dog's website indicated their foot pegs are a little wider than the Pivot Pegz, but significantly longer (4.5" L x 2.5" W or ±114mm L x 63mm W).

Back to doing more research. If I'm going to spend the money on new pegs, I'd like a significantly larger peg.

I've put these on every dual sport and ADV bike I've owned over the past 7 years. I always install them in the lower position.

Based on their respective websites, there is no height adjustment for Black Dog; however, they are 1/2" lower than stock. Fastway and Pivot Pegz can be lowered. Am I correct with regards to this?

Yes in the pivot pegz we just used the spacer in the upper part and the peg sits lower.
Im attaching a pic of the GS pegs, GSA pegs and pivot pegz side by side.

I'm a bit late to the discussion, but here goes. I have a 2021 R1250GS Rally which comes with the larger GSA foot pegs. I bought the SW Motech foot pegs because I wanted to have the rubber insert to cut down on vibration through the foot pegs when not riding off-road. The vibration isn't bad, but I was just looking to make things a little more comfy. However, my impression after installing them was that I couldn't really tell any noticeable difference in vibration dampening, so for me the product didn't work out. I'll likely swap back to the stock foot pegs or potentially go for the Black Dog pegs, which were highly recommended by Bill Dragoo when I took one of his off-road courses last year.

Would one of kind sirs please send me the dimensions of the mount lug width for your gs footrests? I am wanting to put some gs footrests on my RS. There's not a lot of cross bike info out there as you can imagine. I have to assume they are the same, but a measurement from one of you would seal the deal for me. My stock pegs are about 22mm with the bike inner lug width about 22.5 mm. Thanks in advance, Brian.

Hi, I considered a lot of adjustable/lowered footpegs prior to my purchase inclusive the SW-Motech above, and was skeptical for any pegs without rubber, but finally bought the Touratech Works lowered pegs, pure stainless steel, very well made. Both shift lever and brake pedal position became perfect without any adjustments. Do not miss any rubber. For me they are perfect.

Works

So, it turns out, I'm impatient. Who knew?! I went ahead and ordered some option 719 classic footrests for the gs hoping they will fit my RS. I really like the idea of the spring loaded rubber insert. They are discontinued, but I found a dealer with stock. I already have the 719 adjustable brake lever and shifter installed, and 719 hand levers on the way. Hopefully the footrests fit, or they might be available on the forum soon! Hope you all have a great GS'ing day!
