Well this feels a bit odd to ask but……Before I pull this 04 GS apart due to horrible noise in the clutch area when in neutral Im ordering seals and possibly some bearings. For the life of me I cant seem to find a “throw out bearing ) in the parts diagram or while watching videos. I understand the master cylinder pushes the slave that pushed the long push rod (release rod). What does the end of the release rod push against?? Ive done many many automotive clutches but Im not understanding how this system pushes on the disc center springs. Please educate me. Thank you

This may help. FWIW I'd wait until I had the bike apart before I started ordering parts. Inevitably you'll either order too much or not enough. Best to take a good inventory of what you need and then order parts

The bearing you are looking for is inside the clutch slave cylinder I believe. Look at some of the pictures of used slaves on ebay. Looks like the slave actuator rod runs through the transmission input shaft via seals and then pushes against the center hub mounted over the spring fingers. You can see that hub at the 1:34 mark of this video.

I see what your refering to at the 1:34 Interestion, so you think the release rod rotates at engine speed while in contact with the center of the flywheel and spins on a bearing inside the slave cylinder? Very interesting ( if this is the case ). Thank you for the video, I will look closer at the slave cylinder. I just got the bike in the air and will start working on it tomorrow. UPDATE: I did some further research looking at eBay slave cylinders like you suggested and indeed I see the bearing located at the face of the slave. Mystery solved. Thank you again
