Hi there

I removed my tank the other night and in my haste forgot to label the hoses so that I knew where to return them. I'm not confident I have them right.

Can anyone tell me how I can test which is which? I kind of went by length, but it seems that they are both the same length. I'm talking about the small rubber hoses that attach to the nipples. Both identical tube, but clearly different purposes!!

Help appreciated!!

My mnemonic was the hose with the white dot goes to the outlet labeled 'W'. Looks like you've got it right.

Hi Marc - appreciate it. That's a good way of remembering this. Are they fuel lines or breather pipes? I couldn't find any detail on that. I wondered if they are the extension to the overflow in the filler, so W may well stand for 'water' - but this is just a guess.

One of the lines is a tank vent that goes to the charcoal canister. The other is to drain any water that seeps through the cap gasket into the channel around the filler neck.

The charcoal canister is easily removed, with the added benefit of then both those lines go directly to the ground so no need to worry which line goes where.:smile2:
