I have a 2012 1200GS that I really like. There are only two areas where I would like to have improvement. They are suspension adjustment, and throttle response off idle in off road situations. I'm thinking of getting a 2017, but wondering if the 2018 model is going to have some drastic improvements, like maybe under seat gas tank, or anything that is going to give the 1200GS a big leap forward. Does anyone have suggestions about this?

My thoughts would be: you know the 12 and you can see/touch/try a 17. If you wait on unknown 18, what about 19 or 20. Not up on the rumor mill of future changes tho.....my two cents worth:smile2:

When paddling around in the city (real slow acceleration and long stops) I put mine in "Rain" or "Enduro" mode. You get a real gentle throttle response and aggressive ABS (rain mode). Back on the highway it's back into "road" mode again.

I'm keeping my 2012, with 82k running well, in part because if throttle response.....
I road tested both a GS, RT with new throttle by wire...didn't like lack of control with small throttle openings.....esp from stop and in/out of cornering......even in "rain" mode.
Have your TPS recalibrate.....
