Hi guys/Gals.

Just bought my first but guessing not my last Adventurer. 12 R1200GS.

First dirt road ride on Sunday.

I came up to an intersection on a fire trail and went to use the back brake to turn the bike for the intersection, and the abs kicked in even though I had turned it off.

Is that normal?

The back brake will not lock up ever or is there something else you can do.

Still riding Dirt Squirters and I use the back brake regularly on them. Do I need to learn other methods or is there something wrong with the ABS

Interesting tidbit.....do you think it applies the same to the water boxer?

Dunno. If I'm off the pavement I'm probably on dirt fire roads where switching to Enduro mode is enough.

l looked it up in my manual, which is not real clear, but I found a video from BMW England that shows the length of press is similar, and mentions looking at the right symbol for what you are trying to accomplish. I think the 2013-2016's are the same as what is described (vastly better) in your link.

Plug in the red plug that is stored under the seat. Set to EnduroPro mode, problem solved.

I never take it out of EnduroPro. No need for ABS or traction control off road.
