Hey all
I've been looking at the site since getting a 2006 R1200GS. It's got some miles but a great runner, (nothing like my other bike, 2007 Yamaha FJR 1300, which my wife prefers for 2 up riding.
Anyhow, the darn LCD display just quit working. Maybe it's the cold temp, you know from shrinkage, or the screen just quit. Either way I'm looking for a new LCD screen or a repair shop to send it too.
Anyone have a source for a repair shop in the good old US of A?
When I took the thing apart I noticed a slight crack in the glass along the edge of the glass that the frame covers. Also, the ribbon cable was as loose as a goose in the connector on the circuit board. The ribbon strip was just floating in the darn thing. So with the slight crack in the glass I'm assuming that the last repair from the former owner, the seal on the glass was cut, was half assed by the repair shop. There's no way a good repair shop would have QA'd the loose ribbon cable installation.
Any advise or a member that repairs these thing would be awesome. I thought a year ago or so I saw a add for a repair shop. If so, and it's no longer on the forum, did the repair shop get fired and removed from the forum? Just curious.
