Does anyone ever lubricate the engine end spline on the driveshaft? If so, do you just pull the driveshaft out through the axle end? If so, is there any problem re-engaging it at the engine.

After seeing a year old GS have rusted u-joints at both ends I decided to start lubing both end on my GS.
I have been able to get it back together by just aligning it and giving it a good whack with a gloved hand, it can take several attempts though.
