Sold my 2008 R1200GSA on 5/20/23 to a fellow a couple hours away. Two weeks ago, perusing FBMP, I noticed it was listed for sale with only 200 more miles on it than when I sold it, so I reached out to the seller we came to an agreement and tomorrow morning I'm off to pick it up.

This GSA is really set up well with full exhaust (Remus headers and Delkavic muffler) and Lowered Hyper-Pro ESA suspension and lots of other little goodies. It'll be nice to have it back, if even only temporarily as it will likely be catch and release.

Good things come back around. Wonder why he didn't ride or like it?
He has 3 young children a young wife and was just starting a distillery business. Probably didn’t have time to sleep let alone go for a ride.

Crash bars have been removed so they can get media blasted and finished in a more sedate color. Bike has been mostly detailed services are all up to date and hopefully by the end of the week it be ready to be offered up to the next buyer.


Maintenance since I bought it @ 49,103 miles
  • Checked and set valves @ 49,226 miles.
  • Changed transmission oil @ 49,389 miles.
  • Changed rear drive oil @ 49,389 miles.
  • Flushed and bled front and rear brakes @ 49,389 miles..
  • Replaced air filter with a Mahale LX 984/2 at 49,389 miles.
  • Cleaned stepper motors @ 49,389 miles..
  • Changed engine oil and filter @ 49,389 miles.
  • Disassembled and cleaned clutch safety micro switch at 49,400 miles. Bike will now start in gear w/ the clutch pulled in.
  • Alternator belt Continental 4PK 611 @ 49,400 miles
  • Upper swingarm boot $54.00 replaced @ 49,400 miles.
  • Checked, cleaned, and lubed driveshaft. The drive shaft looked and felt like new. No corrosion, splines perfect and the u-joints are silky smooth @ 49,400 miles.
  • Checked swingarm pivot bearings. Both were clean and smooth in operation @ 49,400 miles.
  • Clean and repacked needle bearing on rear drive pivot @ 49,400 miles..
  • Installed Aux beam H11 LED fog light bulbs @ 50,665 miles.
  • New Dunlop TrailSmart rear tire at $52,667 miles.
  • Fuel pump recall completed @ 53,621 miles.
  • Fuel strip replaced with new @ 53,621 miles.
  • Replaced rear brake pads EBC FA363HH @ 54,068 miles.
  • Replaced rear drive oil @ 54,121 miles.
  • Replaced lower swing arm rubber boot @ 54,121 miles.
  • Replaced the sparkplugs with NGK DCPR8EXC (NGK 7168) @ 54,689 miles.
  • Replace F/R TPMS sensors @ 54,698 miles.
  • Replaced the L/R throttle cable pulleys with new Bing replacements @ 54,735 miles.
  • Changed engine oil and filter @ 54,824 miles.
