Just noticed the sidestand on 2012 GS seems loose.....when deployed, there is about 1 to 1.5 inches of play perpendicular to the bike.....
Is this normal?...or have something to do with the kill switch?

My GS was doing the same thing. It became an issue as I mount/dismount with the stand down. It was leaning over so much I would pull the front wheel off the ground.
I replaced both sleeves and the metal bushing. Now everything is nice and tight. I made sure to put some good grease on the pieces too.

The PO did a nice thing. He had drilled out the bolt to use a small cotter pin vs that dumb circlip.

I say no.
Mine has at best 1/4" of normal play when extended.

My '15 does have some play in it.

mine is about an inch, I haven't done anything about it yet. it's 2012
