Lowering tire pressures for off road on GS

I've taken this level 1 course with West38Moto. I've taken it twice as the first time was on my Africa Twin and when I bought my GSA as a way to get familiar with the bike quickly. Here in CO, the facility where they have the class is packed dirt so even a 80/20 would work for the exercises. BUT that's not what they recommend, so I'm not advocating.

The first time they actually went through the process of setting up bar angle and control angle as well as airing down tires. One of the instructors had an air pump (electric) to pump tires back up if needed at the end of the day. The second time I took it, they only talked about set-up and air pressure but didn't go through the process...

On a side note - I hope Dusty is there. There is a huge difference in the class when he is there and when one of the other (or at least the second class I took had a different main instructor) instructors lead the class. Dusty is an amazing instructor and person. Very charismatic, personable, and just a great person. Even though he is an expert he made it feel like he was right there with you. He made sure everyone "got it" whatever the exercise, he would take the time to pull people aside who were having problems and work them. Dusty made it very interactive. He made the class fun like we were all learning together.

The second time, I felt like the main instructor was just going through the motions. While the same information was passed on, it was the way it was passed on. No real enthusiasm. Very much an Instructor/Student type situation. The interaction or collaboration felt very artificial. Although the assistant instructors were good helping people out.

If I had taken the "second" class first, I would have said the class was informative but I would have felt we just barely touched on off-road skills and honestly would have taken the Rawhyde class too. I would have told people it was an okay intro into taking your ADV bike off-road but it was very much an introduction. While when Dusty taught the class I felt the class was well worth the money and more...

Just my .02...
