A friend led a group of five total from Long Island, NY to Nova Scotia at the end of May and the first week in June. We were gone ten days in total. A mix of bikes with the leader on a KTM 1290, (not sure if it's an R or an S) me on my R1250GS, my friend on a Ducati Multistrada V2, another friend on a Yamaha 1000cc naked, and lastly a friend on a KTM SuperDuke GT. WE took a ferry from Pt. Jefferson to Bridgeport, CT to get off LI then up through New England taking the Ferry to Nova Scotia. The roads were great and almost no cars. The weather was awful being foggy or rainy for at least part of eight of the ten days. Nevertheless, the trip was great with wonderful riding, beautiful scenery, and excellent seafood. At one place that we stayed in at the top of Cape Breton I ordered the lobster and got a biology/zoology lesson on the crustacean. A bit too much info before I ate it. lol When I complained to an innkeeper that we have hit so much wet weather she said that this was the rainy season. I wish we had known that before we planned the trip! I think I did about 1,800 miles total. Great trip, weather and all.

Nova Scotia is beautiful. We did a trip there in 2018 all on FJRs, four of us. Just curious if you camped or hotels?

A couple buddies an I spent 12 days in late June and early July Pennsylvania to Labrador and back with a stint in NS. We too hit a lot of rain a 50 degree weather. Glad I took my electric heated jacket and boot dryers. Thinking of going back next year but not as early and spending most if the time on the Rock. The exchange rate makes Canadian travel pretty attractive as well.

Nova Scotia in August is quite lovely with temps in the 70s and still cool in the evenings. We escaped the Maryland heat last summer on a family trip and I can see making that a regular trip. It's less expensive than Maine and every bit as beautiful and perhaps more friendly?
Our group of six did NS in late July for 9 days heading out of Connecticut. Over the Bay of Fundy going and ferry to Bar Harbor back. Been there by car in the past - so much better on a bike. I couldn't believe our luck as we did not have a drop of rain (ok, a brief shower during one night) and mostly clear skies the whole trip. We discussed which direction to ride the Cabot trail and reached a compromise by doing both directions - glad we did.
