Long overdue update. Well, I pulled the cylinder head, and after a great deal of effort, struggle and a lot of PB blaster, WD40, and anything else I had, was able to get the spark plug out of the head. I needed to use a pretty good-sized breaker bar and a lot of force. I was convinced the plug was going to snap off, but it held up. You wouldn't believe how badly galled the threads were on the steel plug, let alone the torn-up threads inside the cylinder head. I'll have to post a picture of the plug. What a mess. Put in a Time Sert spark plug insert. The Time Sert was surprisingly straight forward, only problems was working inside the deep plug well, but there were workarounds using extensions, etc. The hard part was all the work involved with pulling the head off (and the intake, and the exhaust, etc.) Pretty much the absolute limit of my mech. abilities. Took about a month+ all in all, what with waiting for a new head gasket, exhaust gasket and various O-rings and other small parts. What a relief it was to hit the starter button and not hear $$$$ loud crunching sounds!
Good for you…👍
