Does anyone know the torque value for the cylinder head studs on a R1250gs engine? I downloaded a R1250 "service manual" but there is almost nothing in it about the engine that I can see. Does anyone know if BMW has a separate service manual just for the engine itself? Now that BMW no longer sells manuals to the public, large repairs are become very difficult to do. I just found out that the idiots that serviced my bike out of state on a long cross-country ride completely cross-threaded the left cylinder spark plug. No chance of removal (it's so bad I can only turn it about 1 turn ether direction before the plug locks up solid) without removing the cylinder head and taking it to a machine shop. Hence the question about the stud tighten torques.

I had a similar job on a K1600, and that deep well made the insert install a real pain. Always chase plug threads before reinstalling, especially if you are on the road and suspect damage. For anyone else doing this, take your time pulling the head label, everything, and take pictures as you go; it will save your sanity. Also, the BMW repair manual can be helpful.
