I wouldn't normally reccomend anyone.. but I'm gonna stick my neck out here..
I've just bought my 2014 GS off my mate who's had it from new.. done 40k miles.
A year ago he had the rear shock overhauled and upgraded internals. I'd had the bike a week and the rear shock started leaking oil.
Turns out he had it overhauled by a UK company
Called T-Tech suspension.. 14 months ago so out of warranty.. I rang the guy, Lucasz and explained it was out of warranty.. but was now leaking.
He said send it back and he would sort it anyway as he was aware of a bad batch of seals around that time..
Anyway, sent it back, he turned it around same day for me after a full refurb, the spring had a small bit of corrosion on the bottom so he replaced the spring as well, returned it to Spain express courier.. wouldn't take a penny, not even for carriage.
My mate had used him on several occasions and when I told him he said that's exactly why I've used them for years.. Great service...
So maybe worth a call, find out costs of having internals upgraded.
