As described in a previous thread, I found a failing wire insulation situation on my headlight harness. No aftermarket replacement available in the marketplace. After thinking about a quick permanent fix I thought about this product. Any thoughts?

I've used heat shrink tubing when splicing and Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant when bare wires have been exposed. They work better than electrical tape. It looks like someone has come up with a better product. Good find, I would try it but I wonder how long it will last in the can once it's opened.

I've not had good long term results with liquid tape. Perhaps it is the brand I tried. Within a month or three it started flaking off.

I prefer heat shrink if the wires are apart. To fix worn insulation where the wires are not broken I use good quality electrical tape. Cheap hardware store/big box store tape is not always good. I've found Scotch Super 33+ to be good.

Liquid electrical tape

Been using this stuff for years and have to say that it’s a great product. I use it where shrink tubing doesn’t cover adequately and/or I want to seal out water.
