By the BMW book, the recommended grease for the spline is Optimoly TA (BMW part no. 83239407817). Staburags NBU 30 is more of a sealant grease, recommended for assembling the rubber boots over the driveshaft.

 

Ordered some of the Staburags the other day for the boots. Not cheap... but if it what is required. Hope to get to this procedure in the next month or so.

no, thats wrong , NBU is a high prrormance grease
