Best windscreen for R1250GS for tall rider — high speed comfort without losing the “motorcycle feel”

Hey everyone,
I’m 189 cm tall and often ride my R1250GS at higher speeds. Around 150 km/h the wind hits me quite hard — not just the helmet, but the chest area too.

I’d like to find a windscreen setup that reduces buffeting and wind pressure, but still keeps that open “motorcycle feel” (not like sitting behind a car windshield).

For reference, the stock screen on the Tracer 9 GT felt pretty much perfect for me in terms of height and airflow.

Has anyone with a similar height found a good balance? I’ve been looking at the Touratech L-size screen, but I’m open to suggestions

Thanks in advance!

I've got the Puig tall with reinforcement as well and highly recommend. It seems a bit more narrow than stock but is taller. I went with the dark smoke and it hasn't affected my vision, even riding at night.

Good luck and have fun. The only thing any of us can do is tell you what works for us…there isn’t a “be all, end all” windscreen. I have an ’23 GSA with stock screen and an Amazon wind deflector and have it dialed in “OK”, it could be better, up I’m not interested in getting it there. It took me most of last summer (’24) to get where I am. I hit the highway at speed for 10 miles, made an adjustment and 10 more miles, repeated until I had it “close”, next weekend I did the same thing. Purchased the reinforcement kit first, it made a huge difference, but had to readjust the screen, so back to the highway. I’ve figured out I’m getting hit shoulders and it seems to be coming off the screen, hitting the mirrors then me, blasting it to the underside of the helmet. I Duct taped a couple layers of cardboard to the upper edge of the screen to see if I was correct in my thinking…made a big difference. I haven’t looked, but I think if I could find side deflectors like the top one, I’m positive I could dial it in, but wider screen (top) might be the option, but most of those look hideous.

I'm 6ft and went with the CalSci screen. They have larger ones but mine is lower than chin level at the low spot for dirt and twisty roads. I crank it up for long distance and up it's still easy to see over. The wind is very smooth over my helmet on the open road. I'm very pleased with it.
Under the picture of the windscreen with measurements is a link to fitting your windscreen to your body type. Don't use the yardstick method. Use the graph instead.

Windscreen, seats, bar risers and really any "comfort" mod are going to be subjective What works for me may or may not work you.
