Hi.
I just bought my 2007 GS 1200 yesterday. While I was riding to home, this notice came to my dashboard and stays there during ride.I also checked today, but it is still there. What does that mean and how can I get rid of that.
thanks a lot..

No easy way to know exactly without pulling codes with a GS-911 or MotoScan tool.

Does the speedo work? When I needed to change the front ABS tone wheel (on new set of spare wheels) I got that alert and no speedo as the system couldn't sync with speedo sensor in final drive.

So...could be an ABS sensor, could be an ABS module that needs sent to ModuleMasters in Idaho for a $250 rebuild, the motor brushes are notorious for hanging up. Not terrible to pull the tank to get to it. Change your fuel fittings to chrome plated brass while you are there.

Lastly you can safely ride (without ABS of course) as you should have full braking power. I rode mine for 6 months prior to a winter rebuild.

Pulling the ABS module is DIY if you are relatively comfortable with tools. It irritates me my dealer only offered a $3000 replacement module when ModuleMasters offers warranty and super fast turnaround. I never checked with any local independent mechanics.

Definitely a project that can wait just be cognizant of how hard you hit the brakes.

If...that is a critical if, verified by diagnostic code, it is you ABS module here are two videos I referenced when doing the job.

Mute the annoying music, but shows the fix in the motor, still would go to ModuleMasters to get warranty on the repair.

On the older GS like yours, the BRAKE FAILURE light lights up when the ABS has been turned off manually. It's possible that you inadvertently turned ABS off by holding the ABS button for 5 seconds. Holding the ABS button for 5 seconds again will turn it back on.
Edit: On second thought, I don't think this is the problem in your case because when you turn the ignition off and back on again it automatically turns ABS back on.

I tryed what you said brother. It does not turn on.Since 3 days I tryed all and rode it if anything change but not.
30 min. before I just saw my neighbour by chance who has a 911gs tool.So that is the fault code appears after diagnostic with 911gs.Does that mean anything to you??

The 10098 Tank Venting Valve code is seperate from the ABS/Brake Failure issue.

Was there an ABS code present? There should be if you continue getting the Brake Failure warning. What was below this?

Today I did 911 gs scan and result is there. As I expect, it is ABS pump!!
Diagnose "Brake Failure" Warning - Scan for Codes and Advise
Tech Inspected and found 2 Fault Codes 5DF0 - 5DF1 Pump Motor/Voltage Supply.

I realized this part later as you saw. (bravo, you are very carefull). After we finished and I could not say to my neighbour to check again. But I texted and asked him if there was other notice on his laptop. He said me that ''there was no other error notice. If there is, it should be red color''.So I did not insist. It looks like there is no ABS error.I will definitely take the GS tomorrow, to a private service to check by gs911 again.I will let you know the result.thank you very much for your help. Hi. The 5DF0 5DF1 problem is now solved for less than $300.
Remove your module, buy repair service here
Send it in for repair and you get your rebuilt module with a warranty
You seem to miss this is a BMW motorcycle forum and not a BMW car forum.
