At the beginning of May 2022 I purchased a helmet from Champion Helmets, transaction went fine (of course...).
A couple of days later I received an email from them stating that they sold that model (it was in stock when I purchased it online) and gave me the option to either cancel the order and refund my money, or purchase a specific model that I totally did not like. So I sent them a reply opting to cancel the order and refund my money. No answer to the email for a cuple of days, no change on the online order status, etc.
I've sent them numerous emails both from my email client as well as from their online contact form. No reply whatsoever.
Eventually I phoned them and the guy who answered the phone was very polite, mentioned that they are busy, and that he cancelled my order and refunded my money. The phone call was followed by an email sent by the person I had the chat with, confirming the cancellation of the order and that he already refunded the money.
However, the online status remained the same (which means what the guy told me was a lie), I again sent them emails from both my email client and their web contact form. No response to any of my countless emails, no change on the online order status ("processing").
As I had all the communication available, I contacted my bank asking for support, so I do not get out of the time frame when i could lodge a claim. Coincidentally (or not), later during the day the online status changed to "cancelled" and next day a pending refund transaction appeared on my bank account. The refund transaction still shows as "pending", I hope will go through.
I purchased another helmet from another company (same country - Netherland), just a bit more expensive, but they have an extremely good and responsive customer care service.
I lost $10 on this refund probably due to currency rate fluctuation. Totally unhappy about this experience that I had with this Champion Helmets. I guess that if it was no problem with their stock, would have been no problem. However, the moment when we do see the level of customer care support is when things go South.
Anyhow, I believe the problem may be far deeper than extremely poor customer service, I suspect cash flow problems... My suspicion increased when I saw they sell (as being in stock) a product that has not even been launched yet and that other resellers have not even heard about yet (a Sena product).
