Hi folks,

Michelin has got a new tire on the marked the Pilot Road 5 Trail.
I have looked them up but I didn't found (yet) a real live test.
Has anybody allready got them..?

I have the older once the Pilot Road 4, as I never take my beemer off road.
I am very satisfied with them, they perform great both in dry and wet conditions.

So far the Michelin Road 5 Trail is only offered in sizes to fit the oil cooled GS's and currently not available in the U.S so we few of us have any experience with them yet.
It will be June before these are released in GSW sizes.

It appears that the Michelin Pilot Road 4 replacement will be called the Michelin Road 5. Like the former it will be available as a Trail version. With more emphasis on 'Road' in the title in conjunction with the word 'Trail' there appears to a contradiction. In fact I would describe the title as an oxymoron. It would actually make a good name for a tyre, the 'Michelin Road Trail Oxymoron'.

Do you carry a lot of weight on your bike? I'm pondering the GT or standard Trail for a rear. I'm almost certainly going with the Trail for the front. I don't often carry big loads or ride 2 up.
90% of the time no! I do ride two up with my girl from time to time and I always have all my panniers on all of the time but not always full of stuff. I'm 150lbs, but my attitude weights like two fiddy....lol
