Smartphone adapter for the GPS cradle

I recall seeing a gadget that plugs into the GPS cradle on the newer R1200GS models –*instead of the Garmin GPS unit.

The gadget acts as a combined smartphone holder and USB power supply, drawing power from the plug in the GPS cradle.

Any clues where to purchase it?

Just a couple of weeks away

I have actually been working on the design and production of such a smartphone mount. I should have the first 10-20 beta units avail for testing by riders, and would be happy to send one your way to gain valuable feedback.

My initial adapter will not have power provisions, but this IS something I am working on for the next round of production, once I've gotten any of the missed kinks out of the adapter mount.

Unit will hold pretty much any smartphone on the market, within a case or not.

Let me know if interested, and I will add you to the list of beta testers.

Smartphone adapter

I have been using a combination of RAM mount and USB adapter (to CAN bus), but having it mounted to the GPS cradle would definitely be a big plus.
I would be happy to be a beta tester on this solution.
Feel free to contact me if you are still looking for early user that can provide you feedback/ideas to make the product better.

I feel the pain! But having been shown the features over and above the navigation function, and how it works with the "Wonder Wheel", I bit the bullet and added it in to the purchase. Haven't regretted it; in fact look at it as one of the features of the package.
Probably cunning psychological pricing at a particular percentage point of the new vehicle price. Easier to look at it as being 4.5% of the purchase price than as $1,200 (close enough to 2 weeks pay).

Saw this again on the R1200GS Fb group - posted at this time if you want to look - but it's the same pictures. To me, I have to wonder if only guys in the Far East are buying it, so nobody else has heard of it, or if it's not a real thing (or everyone is too scared to order it - it's not inexpensive).

I dunno. They say you can order it at Www.vippeps.com or https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mot...one-navigator-phone-holder-Car-holder-mobile-phone-holder-with/32730189504.html

If anyone gets it, I'd be interested in their experience/review.

Thank you! I've seen the other holder on Amazon (Acacia?) but reviewers claim it won't hold a PLUS sized iPhone. I like the RAM Mount I currently use but this will be much more convenient and will utilize the empty cradle (No NAV to install). Recently loaded my card with new riding gear - will order this once the smoke clears!
