Their standard response appears to be that the product is not discontinued and they're still working on the patch but it'll be completed very soon. Very soon has now taken a whole new meaning. Also, they better have the spring preload feature working or I'm out.

I´am interested in this display. I´am from germany with a R1200 GS LC 2013.
Koso Europe shipps on demand at the moment. Some guys around ordered one, but it´s not received yet.

Now i read here about a lot of bugs.
Got the device an usb slot to do updates on our own?
Sending to dealer isn´t a good option.

Over all, is it worth the money?

Not sold out just withdrawn from market until they fix the problem which I think is unlikely

Interesting, I did a quick search and there's another vendor listing it as available starting Sept 11th/23. It's encouraging however will a diagnostic scan with a GS-911 or at the dealer still log fault codes from the main computer not recognizing the non-OEM Display (KOMBI).

I spoke to Koso in Quebec this morning and was told the issue has been resolved and the new units are in production and expected to be available in the next couple of weeks. Now I told the tech rep that, in all candor, I had heard this from Koso several times over the past year however he assured me that the information is accurate. Is this starting to sound like the Garmin response to whether the Ghosting issue with the NAV Vi has been resolved with your latest replacement?

That said, he mentioned that there's lots of interest in this unit and just ensure that you have your email address added to be notified when it's in stock and ready for sale.

On the KOSO FB page they have a post for their attendance at the 2024 NVP Product Expo Trade Show (for everything motorcycle) being held in Louisville KY this weekend. The post had images of their booth displaying featured KOSO products. I zoomed in as far as I could as I thought the RX-5 was on the shelf. I commented on their post asking if it was that unit.......the author got back to me with a Yes, he said good catch, stay tuned as the item is being restocked very shortly. Encouraging development.

Ok, I received a message from KOSO yesterday that the RX-5 has been fixed and that they have a few new units in stock. They're awaiting a full shipment however as I'd been communicating with them over the past year they were kind enough to reach out and give me 'first refusal' if I was still interested.

I spoke to a tech on the phone this morning before completing the purchase as I had a few follow up questions the main issue being the absence of any mention on adjusting the preload on their pdf. I explained that the bikes come with D-ESA or without. If you have the latter then you adjust the preload manually with the old style knob you turn however those with D-ESA can press the shock button on the left and scroll through the icons showing 1 helmet, 1 helmet with luggage or 2 helmets. As the RX-5 pdf does show adjustments for D-ESA I'm at a loss why the preload options aren't there or explained. Not having the ability to adjust your preload is clearly a deal breaker.

I sent the tech a copy of the owners handbook which lays out this information. He'll be in touch with the engineers today and hopes to have an answer for me tomorrow.

The engineers in Taiwan have apparently confirmed that the spring preload adjustments for D-ESA bikes are on the new release. There is an updated pdf manual for these changes which will be released as soon as their office opens after a week closure. If I'm satisfied that all the features are covered off in the new pdf I'll pull the trigger. As mentioned earlier they only have a few units in stock in the North America office in Quebec however they're receiving a new shipment this Friday.

May have glossed over it, but am I correct to say its still not Android compatable?

IIRC there are a couple of features relating to the phone etc that are specific to Android and IOS You'd have to go to the website and download the manual/instructions but bear in mind there is a new pdf version of that which will be released in the next week or so which will show additional features for the unit.

I was told via email by the sales manager at KOSO that the updated PDF will be available in the beginning of March (hopefully 2024). Delay due to Lunar New Year holidays.

I can't get my head around how a company could re-release a product yet not include the updated user manual that addresses some features that had been excluded in the previous firmware.

I just ordered a KOSO RX5 and waiting with anticipation because my dash speedometer is working intermitently so hopefully this will solve that problem...Does anyone have any other reviews on this or updates before I get the unit. I know some from reading the post have been having problems with cruise control or throwing error codes..has this been updated or anything new would help so I will be prepared when it comes....

The only reviews that I'm aware of are those from this thread. The cruise control issue was only mentioned by one member here whereas DucRider said it worked fine for him. The main issue that prompted the recall in February '23 was that when a diagnostic scan was done on the bike, either with a GS-911 or at the dealer, was that Fault Codes were seen in the ABS system. The ABS worked fine, the problem was that the bike's main computer wasn't recognizing the RX-5 as it was not the OEM display.

I've spoken with and emailed the techs at Koso NA in Quebec and they have said the engineers in Taiwan have resolved this issue which prompted the re-release of the display in February. One of the omissions on the display and in the pdf User's Manual was the spring preload adjustments for bikes with ESA. There had been no mention of the 1 helmet, 2 helmet and helmet with luggage icon that ESA equipped bikes used. That has been changed and it can be seen in the new pdf which was put on the Koso NA site. It's under D-ESA adjustments Type B.

I've messaged several German riders through their forum who have recently installed the RX-5 and the reviews are positive however none of them have the ability to perform a diagnostic scan to check for Fault Codes. I've also ordered one and once installed I'll check that out with my GS-911.

Thanks for the response and I will update the forum when I receive mine as well...Bcs I have the obd1 motoscan connector...One last question...Does the Rx5 pick up the speed like the oem with the speed sensors or is it all electronic? Im only asking because my only problem is the speedometer only works when it wants to so I don't know if this will fix that or let me know what my next move is to fix it..
