Hi mine does the same, so I spoke to a local mechanic (ex BMW head mechanic) about the issue. I also had my bike valve clearences checked to make sure they in spec. He said its a combination of a few things. Fuel, high temps, some rattle cant remember exactly the name. So he said gear down to unlug the engine, the newer bikes have electronic anti knock sensors etc. I said but they should not need to gear down as it has enough power. He changed the spark plugs on the service and it has helped a bit. So its basically pinging. Also BMW are very lean to get through EU emission laws etc. So keep an eye on it maybe change fuel brand. BP seems to do it more the Shell but I have no proof other than the “rattle” is less with Shell. My Triumph tigr 1200 also did it so I think its lean fuelling and fuel quality…. as well.
