Did you get the Trail or the GT, those are good street tires, for me the GT holds up better on the rear and the Trail on the front.

 

It appears that the Michelin Pilot Road 4 replacement will be called the Michelin Road 5. Like the former it will be available as a Trail version. With more emphasis on 'Road' in the title in conjunction with the word 'Trail' there appears to a contradiction. In fact I would describe the title as an oxymoron. It would actually make a good name for a tyre, the 'Michelin Road Trail Oxymoron'.

 

So far the Michelin Road 5 Trail is only offered in sizes to fit the oil cooled GS's and currently not available in the U.S so we few of us have any experience with them yet.
It will be June before these are released in GSW sizes.

 

Coincidentally I bought a rear Michelin Road Pilot 4 today. The motorcycle tyre shop told me of the new Road Pilot 5 but explained that they are not yet available here in Blighty (UK).

 

I had the 4 on my last GS. Great. MUCH quieter than the OEM tyres...

 

I currently have the trails on the front and the GT on the rear it has a harder center and so far they are great!

Do you carry a lot of weight on your bike? I'm pondering the GT or standard Trail for a rear. I'm almost certainly going with the Trail for the front. I don't often carry big loads or ride 2 up.
