Not uncommon here in US to see guys with a GS and a Harley (like @Mark_M ). My guess is that is their best shot.

But the Harley owner demographic is aging here so will be interesting to see how a 20,000 $USD cruiser with no fairing or hard bags sells.
As I have both an '03 Ultra Classic and an '18 GS Adv. I will say that the test ride on the R18 was uninspiring. Rode like my HD but with much less available lean angle (rode it like my HD and I scraped several times and once thought I was going to slide out), a bit more pep in the motor and about the same in braking. Hard to compair the actual breaking against my non-Antiskid HD, but for what it's worth felt similar in stop distance and action.

Did see the new version with the fairings and modified rake at Riding into History, and must say it looks better. Just don't know if there is enough there to pull sales from the casual HD riders.

Somehow, just doesn't seem to compete with my HD. But, that's me. To each his own.

The lean angle deal came up in a number of reviews. I don't understand. It is a motorcycle not a trike, corners are appreciated by even cruiser riders. A number of R18s at my local dealer, seen big discounts on demos. Resale will be painful.

Oh.. forgot to mention- I had to sell my R1200CL which was magnificent! No room at the inn for 3 bikes and the R1800TC is a serious growler with two up

Just saw a review with HD & Indian. HD came in first and what really knocked the BMW for the user interface with the electronics as not being user friendly but the all praised it for fit and finish beating them all.
